Imagine having to wait days to see how your photographs turned out. Decades ago, that was our reality with film rolls. Today, it’s easy to take a hundred seamless, polished images in minutes. Which is perhaps why Analogue photography feels so refreshing now.

With a limited roll, we give each frame a little more attention, a little more intention. The results aren’t always perfect, they aren’t meant to be either. Film captures the honest, lived-in reality of a moment - a reminder that the moment existed and that we were there to experience it.

Step into a more intentional way of seeing. Work with a point-and-shoot film camera, learn to load your own roll and shoot within a limited number of frames. Develop your film using coffee in a darkroom, watch your photographs take shape and leave with your negatives and a renewed appreciation for photography in everyday life.

About the Host

Vijay has been a photographer for 14 years, but his path changed six years ago when he found a discarded 35mm film camera at a Sunday market. This sparked a deep passion for analog photography, leading him to create a massive 500-photo installation for the Abhivyakti Arts Festival in 2023. Realizing his city needed a dedicated space for film lovers, he put other plans aside to start a local community lab. Now three years in, Vijay focuses on nurturing a growing community centered around the joy of slowing down and creating intentional images.

What's a 'Trove Experience’

As our cities swell, we tend to do fewer and repetitive things for recreation. With Trove, you get to break the monotony and explore fresh activities in your city, meet like-minded souls, and develop a deeper appreciation for the finer things.

Most of us likely resonate with terms like 'workshops' or 'events.’ What makes these an 'experience' is the energies we put into scouring the right artists, creators and storytellers, to ensure that each Trove Experience leaves you enriched with meaningful moments to collect for your very own treasure trove.
