Originating in ancient Greece, what began as a simple blend of cheese, wheat, and honey was later carried forward by the Romans, who added their own ingredients and techniques. As cheesecake travelled across Europe, it continued to evolve — adapting to local palates and customs.

By the time it reached America, it had already been shaped by centuries of experimentation. But it was in 19th-century New York that it took on its most iconic form — with the invention of cream cheese giving rise to the smooth, dense, and tangy version that now defines the classic.

Uncover the story behind Spain’s iconic Basque cheesecake as you learn to bake this rustic, caramelised dessert from scratch. Explore the origins and science behind the ingredients, and enjoy your creation.

Note: Each participant will make two cheesecakes of 150 g each

Note: No eggless options are available.

What's a 'Trove Experience’

As our cities swell, we tend to do fewer and repetitive things for recreation. With Trove, you get to break the monotony and explore fresh activities in your city, meet like-minded souls, and develop a deeper appreciation for the finer things.

Most of us likely resonate with terms like 'workshops' or 'events.’ What makes these an 'experience' is the energies we put into scouring the right artists, creators and storytellers, to ensure that each Trove Experience leaves you enriched with meaningful moments to collect for your very own treasure trove.
